We welcome you to gather with community and historic preservation specialists to celebrate the impact of the National Park Service in preserving our nation’s most spectacular landmarks, including the iconic Georgetown Steam Plant.
Guests will have a chance to explore and learn more about the complex exterior restoration of this 118-year-old National Historic Landmark, one of the first reinforced concrete buildings constructed on the west coast.
Featured speaker John Lambert has over 34 years of experience in historic masonry preservation with a storied career of notable projects spanning North America and abroad. Having over ten years of experience working with the Georgetown Steam Plant, Lambert will detail various aspects and challenges of the project and share in the context of the steam plant’s famous builder, Frank Gilbreth.
